Tenranzan (IGARASHI SHUZO CO., LTD.)

Tenranzan’s founder was born in Nakugijo-gun, Niigata Prefecture, and served as the chief brewer of Oume City’s “Sawanoi” Ozawa Brewery, but then began to brew sake independently in the Hanno area, in the prefecture of Saitama.

They were established in 1897, they were at first a small family owned brewery, and they have grown considerably over the decades. They created the Tenranzan brand name to personify our sake. The name “Tenranzan” means “The emperor mountain”. It’s nearby from the brewery.

Tenranzan’s brewery stands at the confluence of Iruma River and Naruki River. The air is clear, and we draw up the underground water from the beautiful and graceful Okuchichibu Mountains. Hanno’s magnificent nature of greenery and clear streams raises our light and crisp Tenranzan.
