Ogawa is located in central Saitama Prefecture. There are 3 historical breweries in Ogawamachi, you can do brewery tour and tasting with special event sake cup. There are plenty of food from local pop up shop. Free suttle bus link 3 brewries you can get on from Musashitsuru brewery (武蔵鶴酒造) 5min walk from Ogawa station.

Musashitsuru brewery

Musashitsuru brewery is also award wining sake brewery. Hiki basin’s cold winter and fresh water brew rounded sake taste. This brewery’s special vegetables pickled in sake lees is very good reputation.

Seiun brewery

Seiun brewery established in 1902. About 70 to 80% of the ingredients of rice is from local, having adamant about own high polished rice and traditional style that small amount of handmade
in naturally low winter temperature.

Matsuoka brewery

Matsuoka brewery established in 1851. Their representative sake, Mikadomatsu is 8 years consecutive No.1 Gold Winner Sake Brewery of the National Sake Award Competition highest record holder in Saitama prefecture. Their sake is made from carefully selected Yamadanishiki rice, 130m under natural groundwater and long history of tradition and abundant skillful Toji (chief sake brewer).

“Ichinokura” & “16th Kurouemon” In-store tasting event @ Ikebukuro

You can taste Ichinokura, Ichinokura sake brewery from Miyagi prefecture, and 16th Kurouemon, Yukawa sake brewery from Nagano prefecture.

Ichinokura Sake Brewery

Ichinokura established in 1973 combined with 4 sake breweries in Miyagi.
Our basic point is to continue to honestly make good quality products with care and skill.
We stiffly hold a traditional skill meeting conditions for hand-made and manufacture only high-quality Japanese Sake.

If you come up to Osaki, Miyagi, you can do Brewery tour. You can see inside of the factory and craftsmen making sake especially November to June. Advanced reservation by a contact form or a phone is preferable.

Yukawa Sake Brewery

Yugawa Naoko, the 16th generation current family owner, defines their craft as, “tradition that changes with the times and connects us all.” Basing their sake around the flavor of delicious, well-rounded rice with a pure, nimble aftertaste, they produce two brands: Kisoji and 16th generation Kurouemon. Kurouemon aims unforgettable sake staying in your memory along with the sensibility of the creators who made it. Yukawa Sake Brewery is scheduled participant 2018 Nagano Sake Messe in Tokyo. You can taste  16th generation Kurouemon series.

“Raifuku” & “Harada” In-store tasting event @ Ikebukuro

You can taste Raifuku, Raifuku sake brewery from Tochigi prefecture, and Harada, Hatsumomidi sake brewery from Yamaguchi prefecture.

Raifuku Sake Brewery

Raifuku Shuzo is a very unique brewery and has grabbed the attention of many from across the country as it uses “flower yeast” made from Japan’s native flora to brew the sake.  The Laboratory of Alcoholic Beverages in the Department of Brewing and Fermentation of Tokyo University of Agriculture’s junior college succeeded in extracting Japanese sake yeast from wild flowers. Research is still ongoing, but currently flowers such as Nadeshiko (fringed pink), Tsurubara (rambler),  Madagascar periwinkle and Begonia are playing the major roles. More kinds of new flower yeast may be found in the near future.

“Raifuku Choseimai Junmai Daiginjo” won the top prize in the Super Premium division of the “SAKE COMPETITION 2016,” a sake contest in July 2016 to pick the world’s best-tasting sake available on the market.

Hatsumomidi Sake Brewery

Hatsumomiji, Brilliant Sake of Shunan District. Most breweries invite Toji (Master of Sake Brewer) in winter and get in a stock of sake once a year. “Shikigura” to make Hatsumomiji lays in a stock of sake through a year and be ready to supply fresh sake right after brewing at any time. Hoping our customers taste fresh sake whenever you want, we devote ourself to sake making with care bottle by bottle. Hatsumomiji established 200 years ago. We are passionate about fastidious local ingredients to brew delicious sake.

If you come up to Shunan, Yamaguchi, you can do Brewery tour. You can see inside of the factory and craftsmen making sake all season. Advanced reservation by an e-mail or a fax is preferable.
